Claire Sully is the MP candidate for the new Bridgwater constituency.  Shine a light  on .... event is a campaign fundraising event that aims to highlight the local area and our wonderful communities.  

Joining Claire are guest speakers from:f

• Aeneas Tole – community engagement and Government Affairs at Agratas (Gigafactory being built at Gravity site)
• Jamie Scanlon - Chief Operating Officer at In Charley’s Memory 

Tim Pitman is our entertainment for the night. A professional singer for 30 years, principal tenor for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Birmingham Tattoo.

Ticket price £15, includes supper and entertainment.

Proceeds from the event will go to Claire's election campaign.

Join parliamentary candidate Rachel Bentley for a fundraiser walking tour of Bermondsey and Rotherhithe with renowned local guide Robert Hulse. The tour has been curated especially for us and will cover some of the area’s incredible political and social history. 

Meet outside Bermondsey tube station at 10:30am for a two-hour tour. The event will finish at the Mayflower Pub. 

Dress comfortably. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Under 12s go free. 

Congratulations to our brilliant candidate Gareth Roberts on his stonking victory in the London election, and thank you to all of you for your hard work and support which made his victory possible.

Unfortunately, Layla is unexpectedly unwell and so is no longer able to host us on May 19th for the Palestine talk. In light of this, we have made the decision to postpone the event. Rest assured, we are actively working to reschedule, as Layla is keen to do this, and we will announce the new date at the earliest opportunity.

Edward Lucas gave up his job to campaign full time to represent you in Parliament. He's not a professional politician. But since September 2021 he's been knocking on doors, listening to voters, and campaigning hard to solve local problems.

Edward's also an internationally known expert on security. He's been arrested, beaten up and deported in his work as a journalist. He is the author of five books and writes a column for the Times. 

Now's your chance to meet him face to face, to ask him questions and hear him speak.

Online safety is hurtling to the top of the public agenda, amid an epidemic of cybercrime, rocketing mental health problems among young people, and growing fears about the corrosive effects of deepfakes. 

Lorin LaFave has experienced the tragic failure of our system first hand. Her son Breck was groomed and murdered by an online predator in 2014. Since then, she has campaigned tirelessly for criminal justice authorities and tech giants to wake up to the online dangers to individuals and society. 

Lorin and our candidate Edward Lucas appeared together on ITV’s Good Morning Britain to discuss this issue. Edward used to cover cyber-security for the Economist and wrote a book, Cyberphobia, in 2015 to highlight the dangers posed by online anonymity.

Don’t miss this thought-provoking evening with a leading campaigner on a vital and topical issue.

If you work in business, run your own business or are interested in our economic and business policies, we are holding a business networking event on Thursday 23rd May at 7.00pm in Haywards Heath. Our Business Spokesperson in the House of Lords, Chris Fox will be our guest speaker. 

Join your fellow Liberal Democrats at the elegant Lensbury Club for a lovely three-course meal and live entertainment. Ed Davey, Sarah Olney and Munira Wilson will be in attendance.

Apart from the entertainment and special guests there will also be an auction and raffle.
