While out and about in North Petherton I met with Sam Chaplin and learned of her new makers and produce market in North Petherton. I was so impressed I offered to volunteer and help her. I’m a fan of local makers and produce markets!

North Petherton will see its inaugural Produce and Makers Market launch on Sunday 21st of January, which founder Sam Chaplin says will showcase local artisans and tasty produce from a wonderful corner of Somerset.

Sam says she has seen many towns and villages in Somerset benefit from showcasing the talents of their local independent businesses. We need to support local traders, and artisans, who tell the story of our place, here in and around North Petherton, which is rich in history and heritage.

Sam says: “We have a strong sense of community in North Petherton and while we have the challenges of the cost of living, we need to connect local people with the makers and traders who need our support.

“We have a growing number of enthusiastic, small independent stallholders and we expect this to grow”.
